maze & vale sleep shorts

Just before Christmas I entered a giveaway from Christina Lowry Designs and was pretty chuffed when I saw my name as a winner! Seriously, jumping on couch kinda excited.

I won an awesome pack of hand printed fabric from maze & vale by Leslie Keating.

She's a Melbourne mother of two, she designs and prints her own fabric, and does a heck of a lot of sewing. (hello, awesome quilts anyone?)

So I really wanted to use the fabric panels in my garment sewing since I'm not much of quilter or have the patience for small fiddly projects at the moment.

The panels are about 34cm by 42cm (13.5" by 16.5") so not possible to make a dress or anything.

But this is what I've created with the "stormy weather" print.

I used this pattern  back in November  so I decided to splice it up and make another pair for sleeping.

For the rest of the fabric panels I'm kinda stuck. Maybe pocket linings?

Suggestions?

And HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  1. Great PJ's - the fabric looks super! And yes, pocket linings, or pockets on the outside of little garments, collars etc will quickly use up this beautiful fabric...

  2. They look gorgeous! I like Judith's idea of using the rest for collars and pockets.

  5. Oooh...those prints are so nice. It is a tough call on what to do with the extra; I like to save it for that "perfect" project but then again, that is why I have too many bins of fabric scraps!

    1. haha. I'm a bit anti-fabric scraps because I never end up using them.... but good fabric like this I just can't waste!
